We’ve got pigs…

From pigs, ducklings and pumpkin gloop to electric motors and beautifully painted rocks, it's been quite an interesting October at The Askefield Project...

Firstly, we have had some new arrivals at The Askefield Project, we now have three new pigs: Peppa, Dotty and Nugget (named by the pupils from Friskney School). We have also taken in some more chicks and ducklings that are getting bigger every day!

During October, there has been plenty going on in our weekly projects. The Toolshed has been full of life with lots of progress being made with planters being painted, speaker box construction underway, a wing former for the Lancaster being made and the first batch of poppies for the Lancaster project were made. The Gravity Racer/ electric go-kart project is coming along with the electric wheels being thoroughly tested (with plenty of video taken) and fettled with to work off one throttle and work in the project. The Puddlers have had an exciting month with the Halloween week being a highlight (especially with the pumpkin gloop) and during our Care Farm Days some big jobs have been ticked off, including finishing the path to the second log cabin!

In other project news, we also received a Councillor’s Community Grant for materials and equipment for Challenge Askefield!! Thank you to Carleen Dickinson and the East Lindsey District Council, we are very grateful to have received the grant.

October also saw our final Kerry Hill Pop-up Pub night of 2025. Despite the poor weather, we had a great turnout, and it was an excellent evening with plenty of delicious lamb and mint burgers. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone again in 2026 for the next opening of the Kerry Hill.

Lastly, we had a beautifully painted rock left on our doorstep during October, which turned out to be one of Billy’s Boulders. Check out the Billy’s Boulders Facebook Group if you have not seen them before.
