Lancasters, Lamb Burgers and Donkeys on the Loose...

It's been quite a busy September, with lots of exciting things happening; the first of which being the return of The Friskney Farm School! It has been brilliant to have the Farm School back and this year we are following a theme of Taskmaster style activities!

The Toolshed has been full of ideas and projects throughout September, with the biggest (in all senses) being the 1:10 scale Lancaster Bomber. There has been some amazing progress made in the last month: the frame for the tailplane, central ribs and spars for the wings have all been completed. It now looks like a plane when it's all together, however there is still an awful lot of work to do!

We also had a number of our big events during September, the first being the penultimate 2025 opening of The Kerry Hill. Then it was on to our final Comedy Night of the year, thank you to everyone who came, we hope you enjoyed the night as much as we did. It has a hilarious set of comedians, and the delicious lamb and mint burgers (from our lambs) made for an excellent evening. We also had our Harvest Supper, which was a lovely evening with lots of delicious food (with vegetables kindly donated by Steve Peak and from our garden) and some amazing table decorations done by Charlotte.

In other project news, September meant the return of the Puddlers Toddler Group. We’ve had a great turnout to all the Tuesday morning so far and it has been great to seeing everyone again and welcome some new faces! We have also had a slight change of direction on the Gravity Racer project as the lack of hills in the local area has made testing slightly difficult (as shown by the videos on our social media), so we are moving towards making an electric go kart for around the farm!

Finally, as the title may suggest, the donkeys have decided that September was the month to see how many times they could go for a wander around the farm...
