Our Site
The Askefield Project is set on a 13.5 acre smallholding in Friskney, on the East Coast of rural Lincolnshire comprising farm buildings, log cabins, paddocks, an orchard, a polytunnel, nature pond and a sensory garden.
Our site is host to a wide variety of events, projects throughout the year.

The Garden
At the far end of the site, we have our Garden Area complete with 72ft Polytunnel, nature pond, Japanese stone garden, orchard, vegetable beds and a wide array of plants and flowers growing.
The Garden Area is maintained by John, Liz and our volunteers and the produce from our polytunnel and vegetable beds is used to supply our kitchen and Soul Foods in Alford.
The Paddocks
A large part of our site is made up by the animal paddocks and they are home to our flock of Kerry Hill and Suffolk sheep, goats, chickens, ducks, a goose called Wally, Boris the donkey and Rory the pony as well as three miniature donkeys.
Behind the four central sheep fields, we have our beautiful top paddock, full of trees, and with an excellent view of Inspector Clouseau!
The Hub
This is the main part of our site where we have our multipurpose Barn, two Log Cabins, Classroom and our Servery (soon to be completed).
This section of the farm has seen lot of change over the years and has hosted everything from our weekly projects, such as The Toolshed and Challenge Askefield, to our events, including Comedy Nights, Pub Nights, and parties.
Booking our site
The Barn
The main building in our Hub is the multi-use barn that acts as the main location for our projects, events and normal farm activities.
The barn has hosted everything from Comedy Nights and Ceilidhs to Restaurant Nights and Weddings. It is our largest covered space on the farm and houses the site’s commercial kitchen.
The Log Cabins
As with the barn, our log cabins host a variety of projects and events like our directors meetings, children’s parties and local groups.
The farthest log cabin is complete with a 72 inch interactive screen, speakers, fridge and urn, ideal for meetings. The closer cabin features an open space perfect for parties, workshops, or activities.
Function Room
The Function Room with its bar, serving hatch and plenty of indoor or outdoor seating is coming soon as part of our Servery.
The Servery is the official replacement for the white tent and will be the permanent place for the bar. Why not take a look around the servery and function room at one of our next events?
