Things are really ramping up…

Back again with another pun and a new access ramp for the shed!!

I will admit the pun is a bit of a stretch for this post as the ramp was built by Chris and Boyd at the end of the week before last, rather than last week, but anyway…

We’ve had another busy last week at The Askefield Project.

On Tuesday we kickstarted our week with another busy Puddlers, filled with plenty of exciting activities and animal feeding! After tidying everything away it was time for the return of the Toolshed. It was the first week back for the Men’s Shed and it was great to see everyone back in the barn and working on their projects again.

Wednesday was our Care Farm day as usual with the classic animal feeding and poo picking to start the day. After that, the main job for the day was to build and modify the deep bed in the polytunnel. After Chris and the team had finished in the polytunnel, it was time to start collecting the parts to make bug hotels.

Thursday saw the return of the year 3s and 4s last week for the Friskney Farm School day, where they started the day with animal feeding and an epic poo patrol (Chris’ words) before reinstating the wormery!! They had lots of other exciting activities throughout the day as well as learning about food chains, a who am I guessing game and getting to help prepare the deep beds!

Then it was Friday and time for another Challenge Askefield! It was number 192 last week; we’re creeping ever closer to 200 weeks! The craft last week was Mandala Art, which was back by popular request. There were some really amazing pieces made by the end of the morning.

We also had some more building work start on Friday as Graham came with his digger dug footings out for Log Cabin number 2, which we are hoping to have up just after Easter!

We hope you all have a great week and we hope to see you soon at The Askefield Project!!
