Hole in one…
It’s a lot less dramatic than it sounds…
On Monday Chris and Boyd were busy with log cabin jobs (straight into the action), with holes being cut straight into the new log cabin in order to fit the additional window and the side door. The Log cabin is very nearly there and we’re very excited to have it up and running.
It was another quieter Tuesday on the farm with no Puddlers or Toolshed as the barn was full of lambs bouncing around. It was still a busy day on the farm with Chris working in the log cabin (old one) to move the electrics and the cupboard so that the door could be cut into the side of the other log cabin.
Then it was Wednesday, our Care Farm Day, and after the animals had been fed (and Boris had been coaxed back into the right field for his breakfast) it was time for sheep jobs! More specifically, it was time to give the lambs their ear tags. It all went quite smoothly (with all of the lambs getting the correct numbers) and by lunchtime the lambs were back to bouncing round the field. After lunch and a brew, Chris and the clients were cleaning out the chicks and ducklings before moving them to new houses, as they're getting quite big now! Later in the day we had a green screen arrive, following an interesting idea on Tuesday...
As it was still the Easter half-term, we had no Farm School last Thursday however there was still a lot of work getting done at the farm, with Hannah and Sharon planning for next term and Chris and Boyd back on the log cabins. This time they were cutting the whole in the old log cabin, fitting the door and beginning work on the passageway between the two.
There was no Challenge Askefield last week as it was a bank holiday however it willl be back this week, with a very exciting and interesting looking craft!
To finish the week, on Saturday, we had our second new format farm club!! It was a more Easter themed day and it was a really nice day with animal feeding, poo picking, making decopatch wooden eggs as a few of the highlights!
All in all, it was another great but busy week at The Askefield Project, and we hope you enjoyed your Easter weekend!
